LADEINDEX
For reporting
Everything on this page is evidenced and may be quoted. The most important section is the second: what we do not say today.
What LADEINDEX is
An independent reliability index for public charging points in Europe, based on the data operators must disclose under Art. 20 of the AFIR regulation. We do not operate charging points, do not sell electricity, and take no money from operators for an assessment.
What we do not claim today
The index does not calculate yet. Anyone looking for a reliability figure will not find one here — and that is not an oversight:
- There are no reliability scores, no ranking and no winner.
- There is no statement about individual operators. No operator is named before being informed and given the opportunity to respond.
- The figures below describe what is reported — not how well a charging point works.
A figure without a basis would be worse than none. The method is fixed before anything is calculated, so that nobody can later ask whether the rules were invented to fit the result.
Figures for quotation

| Register | Charging sites | Charging points | with EVSE ID | Data as of |
|---|
The same European law, the same deadline, the same obligation — and a difference of more than 68 percentage points in the identifier without which a charging point cannot be linked to its operational messages. The difference does not lie in the matter itself but in how a country keeps its records. It decides whether reliability can be measured at all.
The method in three sentences
- A charging point with twelve sessions and no failures is not reliable but unknown — every value is therefore pulled towards the fleet mean, the more so the fewer observations it rests on.
- How quickly the past loses its informative value is not estimated but measured from the data; from that follows an expiry date for every figure.
- Before every publication a counter-test runs on randomly shuffled data. If the result looks just as good there, there is no figure.
